Hydrodynamic power transmission (1) for the hydraulic steering system of a vehicle which contains a hydraulically controlled three-position distributor with a slider element (14) whose inner control lines (12, 13, 29, 30) are connected in its neutral position to external bores (37 to 42) which are made in the housing (10) of the hydraulically controlled three-position distributor. The slider element (14) is assigned two outwardly sprung ram pistons (15, 16). The hydrodynamic power transmission (1) also contains a pair of amplification orifices (32, 35), a pair of control orifices (31, 34) and a pair of regulating orifices (33, 36) which are made in the slider element (14) in such a way that they change their passage cross-sections in the direction of movement of the slider element (14). <IMAGE>
