A lamp which comprises a fuel container, a burner, a nozzle part or tip, a wick and a burning member of metal for the purpose of colouring the flame through interaction between a colorant added to the fuel and the burning element, and which fulfils the task of providing a lamp which, by contrast with earlier lamps, burns without producing soot, evenly and with a continuous coloured flame. In accordance with the invention, the burning member projects above the upper rim of the nozzle part of the burner and is bounded in the region of the lower flame part, and is insulated at least partially from the nozzle part or tip.
