PURPOSE:To perform the component analysis of an iron in molten state in non-contact and in a short time by conducting the spectrometry of an emission spectrum emitted from a fire spot formed when a gas containing oxygen is blown against the surface of a molten iron. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus comprises a lance 2 for blowing oxygen or a mixed gas containing oxygen against a molten iron or steel, an optical fiber bundle 3 as an optical system for introducing an emission spectrum from a fire spot 9 to a spectroscope 10 and the spectroscope 10 for conducting the spectrometry of the emission spectrum. To form the fire spot 9, oxygen gas is supplied into the lance 2 through a gas blowing opening 4 and the oxygen gas is blown against the surface of the molten steel. The mixed gas wherein the oxygen is mixed with an inert gas, such as Ar, N2, or CO2, CO, hydrocarbon gas or the like for the purpose of adjusting the temperature of the fire spot can also be used. A cooling water is injected into the lance 2 through an injecting opening 5 and discharged from a discharge opening 6, protecting the lance 2 from the radiant heat from the molten steel 1. |
