Automatic development of screen positives is made possible by producing from film material to be used a screen positive to determine contrast range by exposing it in several process steps of equal duration through a stepless grey wedge and a contact screen, varying the intensities of the yellow and blue components of the printing light in opposite directions, plotting the dot sizes obtained against wedge densities and light mixtures, and deriving therefrom the exposure times and light mixtures required. |
