PURPOSE:To permit the opening and closing timing to be adjusted by a control shaft by turning at least two turning members for an intake valve and an exhaust valve which holds tappets in slidable ways by the worm gears on which teeth are cut in the opposite directions each other. CONSTITUTION:The tappets 20 and 21 for transmitting the respective lifts of cams 22a and 23a into an intake valve 12 and an exhaust valve 13 are installed in slidable ways into the turning members 26 and 27 installed rotatably around cam shafts 22 and 23. The worm gears 34 and 35 on which teeth are cut in the reverse direction are installed onto the control shafts 28 and 29 connected in the axial direction, and engaged with the worm gears 32a and 33a on the turning members 26 and 27. Therefore, the turning members 26 and 27 are turned in the reverse direction each other by turning the control shafts 28 and 29 by a same actuator 30, and each timing of the intake valve 12 and the exhaust valve 13 is adjusted. |
