Drill carriage with rotatable bracing column

A drill carriage used for drilling holes in underground mining has a travelling mechanism to which a holder is fastened which carries a bracing column which can be extended in order to be supported with a top point against the roof and with a bottom point against the floor. A drilling machine (15) is mounted on the bracing column. In order to be able to drill the holes in virtually any direction, the drilling machine is rotatably mounted about the longitudinal axis of the bracing column. To this end, a fitting piece (51, 51A) which carries a gear rim (52) is rotatably mounted on the chassis. A gear (53) actuated by a rotary cylinder (54) meshes with the gear rim (52) so that the bracing column with the drilling machine (15) arranged on it can be easily rotated (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
