The brake pressure transmitter comprises a hydraulic brake booster (2), actuatable by a brake pedal (16), and a brake master cylinder (1), the push rod piston (19) of which is formed by the end of the booster piston (14) projecting from the booster chamber (13). On the push rod piston (19) an auxiliary cylinder piston (38), which can be moved into an auxiliary cylinder chamber (39), defined by an inner sleeve (32) and a sleeve (37), is formed by an annular flange, the chamber being connected by a bore (40) to a working chamber (22) of the brake master cylinder (1). The sleeve (37) is axially displaceable and with one end designed as an annular piston forms the chamber base of the auxiliary cylinder chamber (39), which on its side remote from the auxiliary cylinder chamber is acted upon by the pressure in the booster chamber (13) and by which the sleeve (37) is held against the pressure in the auxiliary cylinder chamber (39). If there is no pressure in the booster chamber (13), the sleeve (37) can slide together with the auxiliary cylinder piston (38) and no pressure medium is displaced from the auxiliary cylinder chamber (39). By means of the reduced area of the push rod piston (19) now acting alone, an adequate braking action can be achieved even without servo pressure assistance. <IMAGE>
