In a protective housing for a monitor, which is placed, for example, on railway platforms and provides information to train drivers, and which consists of a cuboid-shaped box to receive the monitor, and a frame which is separably fixed to the open front side of the box, and in which a transparent pane, e.g. of lexan or makrolan, is placed, according to the invention the pane is held bent concave in the frame so that the upper edge of the pane is at the greatest distance from the front edge of the box, and the lower edge of the pane is at the least distance from the front edge of the box, and the angle of reflection alpha of the light radiation striking the eye of the observer from the respective axis of incidence to the upper edge of the pane, calculated positively, is always greater than or equal to zero.
