Current measuring device for a static converter

In this measuring device for detecting the actual current value in a static converter (1), a current transformer (4) followed by transformer load is provided. To enable loads (6) with different powers to be connected to the static converter (1) and the static converter to be replaced by a mismatched static converter, the transformer load is constructed as a load switching mechanism (8), the transformer load being adjusted in dependence on the load. For this purpose, the load switching mechanism (8) exhibits a number of parallel-connected ohmic resistors (R1...Rn) which can be connected in each case by controllable switches (S1...Sn). The switches (S1...Sn) are activated by a microcomputer (11) which is used as control device for the static converter and in which a combination table between transformer load and the different load types (X) is stored. The loads (6) can be provided with load-type coding contacts (L1, L2) for unambiguous identification of the load types (X). <IMAGE>
