In the case of a device for fastening rectangular cladding panels, which can be folded down, on ceilings, bearings for in each case one bracket are formed on four corners of a panel. By means of said brackets, the panel can be suspended on a load-bearing rail or the like such that one side of the panel can be folded down by displacing the brackets, the mutually opposite brackets serving as pivot bearings and permitting the folded-down panel to be displaced along the load-bearing rails.
