The present invention relates to the use of pyrazolidinediones of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R<1> represents acyl radicals, R<2> represents alkyl, aryl or acyl, each of which is optionally substituted, R<3> represents alkyl, aryl or acyl, each of which is optionally substituted, where R<2> and R<3>, together with the adjacent nitrogen atoms, can form an optionally substituted, saturated or unsaturated heterocycle, for the control of ectoparasites and endoparasites, particularly in veterinary medicine. The invention further relates to novel pyrazolinediones and process for their preparation.
