PURPOSE:To form an image correctly in a photosensitive area except at the seam of a photosensitive belt by counting the length of the deviation of the seam from a stop position, and shifting an exposure start point of time by the length in the next image formation. CONSTITUTION:The endless photosensitive belt 9 formed by laminating a vapor- deposited metallic layer and a photoconductive layer on a transparent sheet rotates while extended among rollers 5-8. An image is formed by the toner development of the image signal exposing and developing device 16 through the scanning optical system 10 including a laser 11 and a polygon mirror 12, and observed through a window 4. The hole 61a of a disk 61 which rotates synchronizing with the movement of the photosensitive belt 9 is detected to discriminate that the seam 51 of the belt passes a prescribed position. Thus, reference pulses of a belt driving motor are counted to know the movement extent of the belt, so the deviation of the seam 51 from the constant stop position is clear. |
