PURPOSE:To make the superposition images on an image carrying body and the transfer thereof to a transfer material with high accuracy at a high speed by successively transferring the toner images formed on the other image carrying body to one of at least two image carrying bodies thereby superposing the images. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic latent image is formed by the 1st exposing ray on the 1st photosensitive drum 110 and is developed to form the 1st toner image TN1 of the negative polarity having the 1st color. The 2nd electrostatic latent image having a mirror image relation with the latent image EL1 is formed on the 2nd photosensitive drum 210 by the 2nd exposing ray, by which the 2nd toner image TN2 by the 2nd color is formed in parallel with the above. The surface of the drum 110 is irradiated by the ray B142 of a reverse charge inducing device and the generated positive polarity charges gather near the surface of the drum 110. The toner image TN2 is easily attracted toward the drum 110 and is superposed on the toner image TN1 when the toner images TN1, TN2 arrive at the position where the images are nearest each other. The color toner image exactly corresponding to the desired color image is thus formed on the drum 110.
