The invention relates to a monostable switching device having a bistable relay and having a circuit arrangement which contains a charging capacitor. In order further to develop such a circuit arrangement such that it can be operated with a comparatively high switching rate and largely uninfluenced by the edge gradients of the control voltage, the charging capacitor (1) is located in the input circuit of an amplifier (3), and the bistable relay (8) is connected to the output (7) of the amplifier (3). <IMAGE>
