Nozzle arrangement for the casting of thin strips

To avoid non-uniform strip geometry during prolonged casting of thin strips by the deposition of a molten alloy on a moving cooling surface (3) using a nozzle (1) with a slot-shaped opening (2), the slot-shaped opening is chosen so that the direction of its edges from the central area towards the ends (8, 9) changes in such a way that there is both a directional component perpendicular to the movement of the cooling surface (3) and a component in the direction of the movement of the latter. It is thus possible, by pivoting the nozzle (1), to vary the distance between the slot-shaped opening (2) and the cooling surface (3) across the width of the strip. <IMAGE>
