In the case of a piercing saw, especially for cutting up meat, having a sword-shaped saw-blade guiding part (1) and a saw blade (4) which is guided on the narrow side (3) of the said guiding part (1) between at least one lateral pair (2) of guiding cheeks, and in the case of which the saw blade (4) has a guide slot (5) which is parallel to its longitudinal direction and into which engages a guiding projection (11) of the guiding cheek (8), so that the back of the saw blade (4) is held in contact with the saw-blade guiding part (1), it is proposed, for the accident-free exchange of blades with a simple design, that the guiding cheek (7) which is facing towards the point (10) of the saw-blade guiding part (1) have a smooth, continuous guiding surface which rests laterally against the saw blade and the other guiding cheek (8), which is situated further away from the point (10) of the saw-blade guiding part (1), support the guiding projection (11) which engages into the guide slot (5) of the saw blade (4), that furthermore the guide slot (5) be guided until it is close to the point of the saw blade and that the edge width (6) between the end of the guide slot and the end of the saw blade be slightly smaller than the distance of longitudinal offset (14) of the edges (12, 13), which face one another, of the pair of guiding cheeks (2), so that positive guiding of the saw blade (4) can be brought about simply by inserting and longitudinally displacing the saw blade (4). <IMAGE>
