摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a display image having an excellent contrast ratio and visual angle characteristic by providing a micro-reflecting mirror assemblade of which the angle and area of the reflective surfaces to a linear light source change in specified order between said light source and liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:Light 101 emitted from a fluorescent lamp 1 is made into quasi- parallel light 102 of which the Y-direction component is parallel light and the X-direction component is diffused light by micro-split reflection mirrors 2. Such parallel light is made incident on the liquid crystal panel 3, by which the light is made to strongly modified quasi-parallel light 103. The light 103 is made incident on a unidirectional diffusion plate having diffusibility only in the Y- direction, for example, lenticular lens sheet 4, by which diffused light beams 104-106 are obtd. The contract ratio is thereby improved. The light past the liquid crystal panel passes the unidirectional diffusion plate 4, by which the parallel components are removed and the visual angle characteristic is improved.
