PURPOSE:To enable a printer to print with a movement unit smaller than the minimum movement unit of a printing head, by providing a printing head movement controlling means for such a control as to correct the movement of the printing head. CONSTITUTION:When a designated pitch is 5.75, '1' is first inputted as an initial setting of a current-line register 28. Then, a one-line amount of data are read from a document memory 34 into a printing-processing part 32, and are printed. When printing is not finished, the content of the register 28 is compared with the content of a periodic line register 26 by a comparator 30, and when the contents do not agree with each other, the printing-processing part 32 controls a feed-driving part 14 to feed a paper according to the content of a basic line pitch register 22, and the content of the register 28 is incremented by '+1'. On the other hand, when the contents of the registers 26, 28 coincide with each other, the printing-processing part 32 controls the feed-driving part 14 to feed the paper by a pitch obtained by adding the content of a correction line pitch register 24 to the content of the basic line pitch register 22. |
