PURPOSE:To accurately detect a turning angle and the mobile position of a movable body by eliminating the influence by the outside air temperature which magneto-resistance elements receive and outputting a highly precise position detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and the 2nd detection means 13 and 14 consisting of a couple two each of magneto-resistance elements 13A, 13B, 14A and 14B are provided to a permanent magnet 12 and arranged so as to be opposed to the specified position 1A of the movable body 1. Then, the 1st and the 2nd threshold level setting means 19 and 20 set threshold levels of detected signals outputted from the detection means 13 and 14. Next, the 1st and the 2nd comparison means 21 and 22 compare the levels of the detected signal from the means 13 and 14 with the set levels by the means 19 and 20 respectively. Then, a position detection signal output means 23 outputs a position detection signal when the signals outputted from the means 21 and 22 are both identical.
