PURPOSE:To increase high rate discharge utilization and cycle life by arranging a positive active material on the surface of a porous molding made of a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material is arranged on the surface of a porous molding made of PbO2-n (n is 0-0.02). Thereby, a positive plate of lead-acid battery using no grid can be produced to achieve the purpose manufacturing a compact and long life battery. Since lead oxide having a composition of PbO1.98-2.00 has conductivity near metal, it serves as current collector for lead- acid battery, and in addition, since the lead oxide is fixed as a porous molding, it also acts as a holder of positive active material. Since the specific gravity of PbO1.98-2.00 in the molding is low compared with metallic lead alloy, light weight and thin plate is made possible. |
