PURPOSE:To avoid an excess vacuum state which causes deterioration in container and electrode plate, and retain performance even when a battery is stored for a long time with its circuit opened by filling nitrogen gas free from oxygen gas causing deterioration in a negative plate with the pressure inside the cell reduced. CONSTITUTION:When the pressure in a cell is reduced, the air enters from a small hole 6, and oxygen gas in the air is removed with an absorbing agent 5, and nitrogen gas enters the cell from a small hole 7. A slit, a microporous film, a thin film, or a valve is used in the small holes 6, 7. If the valve is used, it opens when the pressure in the cell is reduced, and closes when the pressure is increased. However, preventing the consumption of oxygen gas absorbing capability caused by passing through the outside is preferable. By substituting the gas in the cell with inactive gas such as nitrogen before setting the exhaust valve, an excess vacuum state after manufacturing the battery can be avoided. |
