PURPOSE:To improve adhere between separators and increase closed circuit voltage by blanking a plural-layer laminated separator with compression. CONSTITUTION:A positive mix 4 using silver oxide as active material is placed in a positive case 5 together with a positive ring 6 and pressed, then potassium hydroxide electrolyte is poured. A three-layer separator 7 comprising graft film obtained by graft-polymerizing methacrylic acid to polyethylene and cellophene is joined to electrolyte absorbing material 8 comprising nylon nonwoven fabric, and they are passed between a set of compression rollers, and blanked with a blanking punch 10, and placed in the positive case 5. A gelled negative electrolyte 11 comprising amalgamated zinc powder and sodium polyacrylate serving as gelling agent is filled in a sealing plate 12, then the sealing plate 12 is combined with the positive case 5 through a sealing gasket 13. The end periphery of the positive case 5 is crimped to seal a battery. |
