PURPOSE:To enable a printer to print information free of distortion on objects to be printed which have various shapes, by printing on the object to be printed disposed on the outside of a main body of the printer, taking into account the velocity at which the main body is moved. CONSTITUTION:A main body 2 of a printer is so placed that wheels 11 are located on an object P to be printed. When the main body 2 is moved, the wheels 11 roll on the object P, and the rotation of the wheels 11 is transmitted to a slitted disk 16. A photosensor 17 detects the velocity of the main body 2 as the rotational frequency of the disk 16. A signal detected by the photosensor 17 is inputted to a PCB unit 7. The unit 7 analyzes information sent from a computer apparatus, and outputs a printing signal to a wire dot head 5 at a speed according to the signal inputted from the photosensor 7. With the printing signal outputted to the head 5, wires of the head 5 are driven by a battery 8, and the information sent from the computer is printed on the object P through a ribbon disposed in a lower opening 4 of a casing 3.
