<p>In a liquid crystal display device the drive matrix is extended up to the edge of the (visible part of the) liquid crystalline surface. Since only two visible conditions (on/off) are possible, which are identically driven everywhere, contrast differences between the edge (background) and parts of the actual display portion are eliminated.</p> |
