Seal arrangement for a shaft

The seal arrangement comprises a PTFE sealing ring (14) containing a 20% proportion of glass powder surrounding and sealing off the shaft (10). Around the sealing ring (14) is a spring ring (22) which subjects the sealing ring (14) to a radially inward contact pressure. The sealing ring (14) is accommodated in a clamping part (24, 34), by means of which the sealing ring (14) can be compressed axially with an adjustable compression pressure. The shaft (10) is supported (50, 52) in the clamping part. <IMAGE>
