PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the abnormal vibration of a rotary body, by extracting the envelope of a high frequency component and a low frequency component from the signal of the acceleration sensor arranged to the outer surface of a casing. CONSTITUTION:The detection signal from the acceleration sensor arranged to the outer surface of a rotary body 1 is converted to an electric signal, amplified and separated into two signals by an amplifier 7. One signal is applied to a bypass filter 10 to remove a low frequency component and passes through a detection circuit 11 and a first low band-pass filter 12 to be converted to an envelope signal of a high frequency component while the other signal comes to a low frequency component signal by a second low band-pass filter 13. Next, these signals are inputted to a frequency analyser to perform correlation analysis or cross spectrum analysis and the analytical result is displayed on a display device 8 such as an oscilloscope or CRT to make it possible to detect whirl vibration frequency.
