PURPOSE:To obtain a reagent which excels in the sharpness and rapidness of an immunological agglutination reaction and forms a sharp agglutination image by sensitizing an immunologically active material with an inorg. compd. having a specific particle size. CONSTITUTION:The reagent is prepd. by sensitizing the immunologically active material to the surface of the inorg. compd. having 0.5-10.0mum average particle size, more preferably, 0.8-5mum and adjusting the mono-particularity to >=80%. The settling speed is low and the longer time is required for the discrimination if the average particle size of the inorg. compd. is <=0.5mum. The agglutination image is obscure and the sharpness is low if said size is >=10mum. The sharper agglutination image is obtd. as the grain size distribution of the imorg. compd. is narrower. The specific gravity of the inorg. compd. is preferably >=1.5 in order to increase the settling speed by the agglutination reaction. The inorg. compd. satisfying such conditions includes, for example, silica, alumina, titania, etc.
