PURPOSE:To permit automatic multinominal analysis meeting the requirements of areas and middle and small hospitals and to obtain an instrument of a small size and low cost by rotating and controlling a reaction vessel holder in such a manner that said holder is transferred by step rotation and is then turned over and stopped in a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:The sample holder 3 is turned clockwise by a driving device 14 to successively and intermittently transfer sample vessels 1 to a sample suction position (a). A required amt. of the specimen is sucked by a pipetter 8 and is dispensed into the reaction vessel 4 existing in a sample dispensing position (b) when the vessel 1 is transferred to the position (a). The holder 5 is controlled to be rotated stepwise by a prescribed number of steps in the clockwise direction by a driving device 11 and thereafter the holder is so controlled as to be turned over and rotated to the position advanced by one pitch in the clockwise direction from the starting position (b) and to be stopped in said position. The vessels are intermittently transferred by each one pitch in the clockwise direction by the forward and backward stepwise turning of the holder 5 in the above-mentioned manner. The entire part of the device is thus constituted compact.
