PURPOSE:To make it possible to regrind the outer race of a roller bearing even though it is left to be fitted with a shaft, by holding the outer peripheral surfaces of outer races of roller bearings individually or as one unit body, with the use of the resulted force of three point forces of a transmitting wheel, a grindstone wheel and a pusher roll so that the outer races are ground simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:After a shaft 1 fitted thereon with roller bearings 10 being supported at plural positions by means of support means 15, 16, the outer races 3 are urged toward the center of the shaft 1 by means of a transmitting wheel 17 and a pusher roll 18, and then the outer peripheral surfaces 3b of the outer races are made into contact with a grind stone wheel 19 while the shaft 1 being rotated. Thereby, the outer surfaces of a plurality of outer races may be ground simultaneously about the center of the shaft 1 on which the bearings 10 are fitted. Further, the shaft 1 fitted thereon with bearings 10 is received by two supporting sections of each of the support means and the centering of the outer races is made by the deadweights of the roller bearings provided with the shaft during the attachment thereof. further, the position of the center axis of the shaft may be adjusted by finely adjusting bearing hardwares 15a, 16a. Accordingly, it is possible to grind the outer peripheral surfaces of the outer races of the bearings 10 in an off-line without disassembling the bearings.
