A fibrous substrate is coated with a silane in an amount of at least about 0.2 % by weight based upon the fibrous substrate. The substrate is then coated with a composition containing a polyepoxide. A product is provided which includes a fibrous substrate coated with a silane in an amount of at least about 0.2 % by weight based upon the substrate and then subsequently coated with a composition containing a polyepoxide. Enhanced adhesion between the fibrous substrate and the polyepoxide is provided.
