PURPOSE:To imprint freely a required date by providing a means which operates a date imprinting mechanism, a means which holds this means in the unoperated state, and a means which imprints the date by the manual operation. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch is turned on, a reset pulse is outputted from an initial reset circuit 26, and an AND gate 32 is opened to operate a monostable multivibrator 33. A start signal is outputted from the circuit 33 to a date imprinting circuit 34, and then, a date imprinting mechanism 21 is operated to imprint the date. If it is unnecessary to imprint the date, a selecting switch 35 is turned off at the power-on time. Then, the reset pulse is not inputted to the circuit 33 though it is outputted from the circuit 26, and the date is not imprinted. If it is necessary to imprint the date with the power switch turned on, a data imprinting button 40 is operated to operate the circuit 33 through the gate 32 by the signal, and the date is imprinted.
