<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of detecting elongation percentage by detecting the coil diameters and rotating speeds of a payoff reel and tension reel, calculating the inlet and outlet side speeds of a strip and determining the elongation percentage from the calculated value thereof. CONSTITUTION:Two laser range finders 5, 6 are provided to the payoff reel 2 and laser range finders 7, 8 are disposed to the tension reel 4 as well. Rotating speed detectors 11, 12 such as pulse generators are respectively disposed to the reels 2, 4. The diameter of the reel 2 is determined by the range finders 5, 6 and similarly the diameter of the reel 4 is determined by the range finders 7, 8. The inlet and outlet side speeds of the strip 1 are respectively determined with multipliers 13, 14. The elongation percentage of the mill is calculated by an adder 17 and a divider 18. Since the inlet and outlet side speeds of the strip 1 are exactly detected, the accuracy in the detection of the elongation percentage is improved.</p> |
