COUPLING STRUCTURE FOR SQUARE PIPE

PURPOSE:To permit easy and accurate joining at a prescribed angle by forming a pipe fitting hole into which the end of a square pipe is fitted to the side wall of the other pipe by press forming. CONSTITUTION:The side wall 1a of the square pipe 1 is perpendicularly pressed by using a punch 2 to form the pipe fitting hole 3. A cutting piece 4 is bent inward in conformity with the angle of the inclined part 2b of the punch 2. The end of the square pipe 5 is fitted into fitting hole 3 of the pipe 1 and the pipes are welded 6 in the case of joining the pipes. The angle of joining is, therefore, easily and accurately determined by the angle of inclination of the inclined part 2b. The positioning of the joint length, etc. is easily executed as well.
