PURPOSE:To weld automatically a sleeve and a pipe by using only a welding torch of one point of a four point automatic welding equipment, for welding the pipe and the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:Until a sensor detects a sleeve, a front and rear profiling mechanism 7 is advanced by operating simultaneously an advance use solenoid valve 17 and a lock releasing solenoid valve 18. When the sensor detects the sleeve, only a lock releasing solenoid valve 19 is released, a cell lock device of the tip of its pipe system is operated, and a motion of the front and rear profiling mechanism 7 is locked. At the same time, an air pressure 20 passing through a port of the advance use solenoid valve 17 and the lock releasing solenoid valve 19 is made to apply equally to the respective pipelines of the advance side and the retreat side of the front and rear profiling mechanism 7. Also, an air cylinder of the front and rear profiling mechanism 7 is set to an immobile state and a torch set position is made invariable.
