Aircraft with rotating wings comprising a nacelle 1, which encloses the user, who sits on a seat 9, which is displaceably fitted in the mid-plane of the nacelle in the normal flying attitude, in which the displacement position of the seat and of the user determines the stationary, forward or backward flight of the aircraft. Two parallel rings 40, 41, the common axis of which coincides with the vertical axis of the nacelle, are carried by the nacelle by roller bearings 43-45 located around its circumference. The rings 40, 41 are driven to rotate at the same speed, but in opposite directions, by a drive wheel 37, which is driven by a combustion engine 19 by way of a transmission 25-36, the drive wheel 37 hauling on opposing faces of the rings 37. Each ring 40, 41 carries at least one pair of airfoil blades 48, 49; 50, 51, mounted diametrically opposite and in extension of one another and rotatable about their longitudinal axis, in which the angle that each blade in a pair forms with the carrier ring can be adjusted to the same extent in opposite directions. Turning movements of the aircraft are performed in that this is provided with rudder 70 and/or brake mechanisms 89-93 for braking of the one rotation in relation to the other. <IMAGE>
