PURPOSE:To prevent the disconnections of inner leads at corner ends, and to improve reliability by forming dummy inner leads in width the same as or larger than the inner leads on the outsides of inner lead rows. CONSTITUTION:Dummy pads 17 in Al are fitted at four corner sections on an IC chip 11, and dummy inner leads 18 corresponding to the dummy pads are mounted. Breadth the same as or slightly larger than normal inner leads 15 displays a large effect in the dummy inner leads 18. Accordingly, various mechanical stress is absorbed by the dummy inner leads, thus reducing stress to other inner leads. |
