PURPOSE:To prevent a halogen lamp from becoming blackish and prolong its life by providing a device which performs arithmetic control over the turn-on time up to the completion of the 1st copy according to the turn-off time of the halogen lamp which is monitored by a timer device. CONSTITUTION:The turn-off time from the turn-on end of the halogen lamp 10 to the next turn-on start is counted 22 in the form of the number of pulses generated by the timer device 20, whose output is inputted to a turn-on time controller to perform arithmetic control over the turn-on time of the lamp 10 according to the contents of the counter 22, applying a voltage from a power source 40 to the lamp 10. Consequently, the turn-on time of the next copy is controlled according to the turn-on time and the tube wall temperature necessary for a halogen cycle is maintained regardless of the turn-off time to prevent the lamp from becoming blackish, prolonging its life. |
