PURPOSE:To aim at effectively using a trunk room, in a rear door for a sedan type automobile or the like, by constituting the rear door with a frame including a rear window and a pipe frame laid along the opening edge of the trunk room, and by providing a luggage door in the pipe frame section. CONSTITUTION:A rear door is constituted with a press frame section 18 and a pipe frame 19 over a section consisting of the rear inclined surface including a rear window 13 and the upper surface of a trunk room 12, and the upper section of the press frame 18 is pivotally connected to a body 10 by means of a hinge 16. Further, both ends of the pipe frame 19 are inserted into the associated end of the press frame 18 to be connected together. Further, a luggage door 15 for covering the opening section 22 defined by the pipe frame 19 is attached to the rear end of the frame 18 by means of a hinge 23. With this arrangement the luggage door and the rear door are selectively used in accordance with the size of a luggage, thereby it is possible to aim at effectively using the space of the trunk room.
