The stacking device comprises an upwardly open fixture to accommodate a pipe layer coming from the forward feed transporter. The fixture consists of five of the sides for achieving a hexagonal formation which can be raised or lowered. After a pipe layer has been placed in the fixture, it drops by a stage corresp. to the thickness of the pipe layer. The fixture also partly comprises a transfer finger which, independently of the raising and lowering movements of the fixture, moves parallel to its bottom side to a bridging location for transfer of pipe layers from the transporter. At least the fixture side which, in the effective position, faces away from the forward feed transporter is free-standing in relation to the fixture. After positioning of the most central layer of the hexagonal bundle is movable from a drawn-downwards position to its effective position, in which its width increases in time with the lowering of the fixture. |
