PURPOSE:To prevent separation of a molded product from an insert and obtain the reinforcing effect of the insert proper by a method wherein liquid material is coated and formed on the main body of the insert adhered with a sheet material having fine recesses, protrusions or cavities on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An insert 10 is held in a mold 20 to coat and wrap the insert 10 by injecting and pouring a reactional liquid material through a gate 21 whereby a RIM molded product 30 is obtained. In this case, the insert 10 is provided with a sheet material 12 such as paper, cloth or the like having fine recesses, protrusions or cavities on the surface thereof, therefore, the cast liquid material is invaded or impregnated into the recesses, protrusions, cavities or the like and is solidified. According to this method, the surface of the molded RIM product and the surface of the insert are integrated by the engagement of both surfaces biting opposed surfaces with each other. In other word, the injected and poured liquid material is integrated with the insert 10. Reactional material, such as polyurethane, polyurea or the like, or the same materials mixed with the reinforcing material of glass fibers or the like, may be used as the reactional liquid material. |
