<p>PURPOSE:To enlarge the scanning range of an antenna beam and improve an off-boresight effect by so supporting an antenna by an airframe that the antenna can be rotated relative to a roll shaft and fixedly mounting an antenna axis in inclination with respect to a rotating shaft. CONSTITUTION:The antenna frame 6 of an aircraft carrying phased array antenna 1 having a roll shaft 15 whose rotary angle is controllable and which is inclined relative to an antenna axis 18 by an angle beta is so supported by an airframe 12 that the antenna frame 6 is rotatable about the shaft 15 by means of a turning device 13. When the operation mode of the antenna is set, a processor 10 computes an optimum rotary angle of the roll shaft and a rotation command is fed to a drive controller 17. The controller 17 rotates the antenna 1 via a driving unit 14 and the rotary angle is detected by a detector 16 to be fed back to the controller 17. When a beam scanning range is enlarged, the range enlarges by the angle beta by rotating the antenna axis 18.</p> |
