PURPOSE:To prevent particles from sticking to each other without detriment to their properties such as transparency, by coating, and adhesing the exposed surface of a powdered or particulate vinyl ester/ethylene copolymer with a wax having a relatively high m.p. CONSTITUTION:The exposed surface of a powdered or particulate vinyl ester/ ethylene copolymer (e.g., vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer) is coated, by adhesion, with a wax having a m.p. >=40 deg.C. Examples of suitable waxes include fatty acid waxes such as stearic acid, higher alcohol waxes such as palmityl alcohol, ester waxes such as glycidyl monostearate and paraffin wax. This addition can be performed simply by coating and adhering the resin particles with the wax at a temperature higher than the m.p. of the wax. The obtained resin particles do not undergo sticking among particles even when they are stored for a long time or under conditions of a high atmospheric temperature in summer. |
