PURPOSE:To prevent a reel from slipping up by forming a brake on the reel on which a most of magnetic tape is wound in a shipping time so as to be effective on both sides to prevent the turning of the reel in both directions. CONSTITUTION:Within a cassette 1, a reel 3 on which one end of a magnetic tape 2 is fixed to a core 3b and the most of the tape is wound and a reel 4 on which the other end of the tape is fixed to a core 4b are contained, and gears 3a and 4a are provided at the outer peropheries of the reels 3 and 4 respectively, and brakes 6 and 7 pressed with a spring 5 are engaged. The engagement is released with the turning of a releasing lever 8 in a downward direction. So that the turning center 6a of the brake 6 is positioned in a right angle direction against a radius direction connecting between an engaging part 6b and the turning center 3c of the reel 3, and the engaging part 6b is faced with the turning center 3c, the turning of the reel 3 both in a clockwise and a counter clockwise directions is suppressed even when it tries to turn. Thereby, the slip up of the reel 3 can be prevented.
