PURPOSE:To increase the printing speed at AC adaptor use time and to achieve the reduction of power consumption by decreasing the printing speed at dry cell use time, by controlling the printing speed of a printer by detecting the presence of the use of AC adaptor in the electronic apparatus utilizing the printer which operates on the AC adaptor and the dry cell. CONSTITUTION:The supply voltage supplied from an AC adaptor 1 and a dry cell 2 is inputted to a voltage detection part 5 via an input line 4. This voltage detection part 5 converts the input voltage to a data 6, sends it to a control part 7 and judges either the AC adaptor 1 is being used or the dry cell 2 is being used. Then, if the AC adaptor 1 is being used, because a printer 8 is so controlled as to print at a high speed, the performance of the printer 8 can be thoroughly utilized. Further, if the dry cell 2 is being used, by controlling the printer to print at a low speed, the power consumption is reduced, the sudden voltage drop of cell voltage is prevented and besides, the service life of the dry cell can be lengthened.
