PURPOSE:To obtain a versatile food preservative expected to have high safety when used in food, by using d-limonene or d-limonene and ethyl alcohol as main components. CONSTITUTION:d-Limonene is added to a food in an amount of about >=0.001vol% preferably about >=0.01vol% based on the food or d-limonene is mixed with ethyl alcohol at a concentration of about >=0.05vol%, preferably about 0.5-2.0vol% and the mixture is added to a food at an alcohol concentration of about >=1.0vol%.
