PURPOSE:To enable a transfer image of high quality to be recorded at high speed on a paper of low surface smoothness and to enable a halftone recording image to be formed, by a method wherein a transfer image is formed on a transfer recording layer by varying a physical properties affecting a transfer properties according to a halftone recording information and an energizing in signal form for transfer image forming and a uniform energizing for transferring are functionally separated. CONSTITUTION:A halftone transfer recording medium is formed in such a manner as; components such as polymerizable prepolymer having functional group, heat-sensitive crosslinking agent, reaction initiator, sensitizing agent, stabilizing agent, and coloring agent, are melted and mixed to be fine image forming elements, and after the elements are mixed with a binder such as polyester resin in a solvent, the solvent is applied on a film and dried to be removed. Two or three among pressure, heat, and light energy are applied to the obtained recording medium, while at least one among them is varied in the condition corresponding to a halftone recording information in order to form thereon a transfer image consisting of portions wherein the melting point and the melt viscosity etc. are varied stepwise. Thereafter, the transfer recording medium is heated under the condition preventing transfer of at least one portion of the image forming element wherein a physical properties affecting a transfer properties was varied, thus obtaining the transfer image thereon. |
