PURPOSE:To permit delivery volume to be controlled with no worsening of efficiency of a compressor, by returning refrigerant gas, given compression work, to a expansion stroke before a suction stroke while providing a reverse flow preventing valve of the refrigerant gas in suction ports. CONSTITUTION:Refrigerant gas, given compression work in an operative chamber 16, is recirculated to a part, where the operative chamber 16 performs an expansion stroke, through a bypass passage 24. In a suction stroke, where the operative chamber 16 is spread by turning a rotor 14 and a vane 15, the recirculated bypass refrigerant gas expands acting on the vane 15 with the compression work, obtained till then, serving as expansion work. In this way, energy of the refrigerant gas, allowed to bypass flow for controlling delivery volume, is effectively recovered, and the delivery volume can be controlled with no worsening of compression efficiency. While a compressor, providing a reverse flow preventing valve in suction ports 17, 18, prevents also a decrease of suction efficiency from being generated due to a reverse flow of the refrigerant gas.
