NEW MATERIAL:The 1H-benzimidazole derivative of formula I [R<1> and R<2> are H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen; R<3>, R<4> and R<5> are H, lower alkoxy or lower alkyl; R<6> is phenyl(lower alkyl) which may have lower alkoxy or halogen atom on phenyl ring; l is 0 or 1] and its salt. EXAMPLE:2-[( 4-Fluorobenzyl )(3, 5-dimethyl-4-methoxy-2-pyridyl )methylthio]-5- fluoro-1H-benzimidazole. USE:The compound has antiulcer activity and is useful as a remedy for ulcer of digestive organs such as gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, etc. It has acid secretion suppressing action as well as cell-protecting action and suppresses ulcer factor by its attacking and protecting effects. There is no side effect. PREPARATION:The compound of formula Ia which is one of the compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III (X<1> and X<2> are mercapto, etc.) according to the reaction formula. |
