<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cis-compound useful as a raw material for fine chemical fields simply and in high yield, by subjecting 3,3,5-trimethyl cyclohexenone, etc., to a catalytic hydrogenation reaction and carrying out successively an isomerization reaction under the same condition. CONSTITUTION:3,3,5-Trimethylcyclohexenone or 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone is subjected to a catalytic hydrogenation reaction to give a reaction mixture. Successively, an isomerization reaction is carried out under the same reaction as that of the hydrogenation reaction to give the aimed compound. In the catalytic hydrogenation and the isomerization reaction, a Raney catalyst is preferably present. The reaction pressure is preferably 15-30kg/cm<2> hydrogen partial pressure and the reaction temperature is 160-200 deg.C, preferably 170-180 deg.C. In the catalytic reaction, 0.01-0.05wt% alkali metallic hydroxide such as NaOH, etc., is preferably added to the reaction system.</p> |
