PURPOSE:To stabilize a floating height even when a yawing angle is increased by providing a step plane of groove shaped recessed part on the side rail of a positive pressure generating plane at the air bearing plane of a slider main body, and dividing a fluid lubrication plane on the side rail into two parts. CONSTITUTION:When a yawing is generated and the longitudinal direction of a slider main body 1 is shifted from the direction of an air flow, a pressure generating state on the air bearing plane is widely changed with a generated angle theta, thereby the floating height being changed. If groove shaped recessed parts 8 and 9 are not provided, the pressure will be reduced remarkably with a yawing angle theta. On the other hand, if the groove shaped recessed parts 8 and 9 are provided, only a few reduction of the pressure is generated and especially, the pressure reduction within the groove shaped recessed parts 8 and 9 is scarcely observed. Thus, by providing the groove shaped recessed parts 8 and 9, the pressure reduction at the neighborhood of the rear parts of side rails 2 and 3 can be suppressed. |
